Wow. Just read that Steve Irwin died. Ya'll remember him? The Crocodile Hunter? The crazy guy who was always tangling with crocodiles and other dangerous animals? It was a STINGRAY. Of all things. I can't believe it. I can't and then I can. I mean, we all knew it was going to happen sooner or later, right? I mean, the guy was INSANE.
I can't help but feel bad for his wife and two young children. That's just awful for them. The guy was only 44. Such a shame. What a waste. :(
Ever wanted to see what a baby that's jonesing for some milk looks like? Here's a prime example:
Take a picture of something under construction.
This may or may not be cheating... but I didn't just take this picture today. It was taken on March 31, 2004 and it is of our house while it was being built. This was taken from what would be our master bedroom and looking through what would be our master bathroom (and you can see a corner of the walk-in closet on the right). Coincidentally, this was the same day as our stillborn baby's funeral. We went out to see progress on the house that night, mostly to help give us something to look forward to in the future months.
Anyhow, I think it's a pretty cool picture.
I got this from Zoot, who got this from Sweetney. And since I think a) Colbert rocks and b) there are a lot of things I'd like to put on notice, I had to give it a shot. You can give it a shot yourself, if you're in the mood. Oh, and remind me to go off on Justin the Jacket Stealer later on, when I have a minute. Right now I gotta go clean some more bottle parts. (grr)
What magazines do you subscribe to, and why?
You know, I'm not 100% sure. Heh. I know I subscribe to In Style, becuase I get very excited whenever it shows up. I mean, any magazine that comes with a BOOKMARk has got to be good. Often will take me several days to get through an issue, and I love that. I also get (got?) Pregnancy, Parenting and BabyTalk, for obvious reasons. (I was pregnant and I have children. Go figure.) I miss Us Weekly, trashy as it was. It was a guilty pleasure.

Our little chunker has gained almost three pounds on his birth weight in only a month. That? Is fantastic. :) We were thinking he'd be about 6lbs 13oz, almost 7lbs. We certainly weren't expecting 7lbs 8oz. So I guess my breastmilk is cutting it. :) Even so, Dr. Colombo gave us some "breast milk fortifiers". It's a powder you add to expressed breastmilk that ups the caloric intake a bit. He doesn't REALLY need it, but as Dr. Colombo said, it couldn't hurt, and the stuff is going to expire in a few months and he'd rather we have it than throw it away altogether. I didn't even know there was such a thing. :)
He's doing very well so far, perfectly healthy and all his reflexes are right on track. We scheduled his 2 month appointment for September 15th, and even made an appointment for Harry on the same day. Harry... that's a whole nother post.
So, how did do with that weekend goal? No goal? What did you do this weekend?
So I didn't set a weekend goal... but if I had, and if my goal had been "Not to lose my wallet", I would have fallen drastically short of that goal. Yeah, lost my wallet. Not sure where, but I'm pretty sure it was in the middle of the mall. It's GONE. Poof. We've looked everywhere and called mall security on several occasions. Nadda. Which means that some jerk-off took it. I hope they enjoy the $11 and the pictures of my son in there, because they're not gonna get very far with anything else. We have no money and no room on any credit cards so those will be disappointing. I suppose it's too much to ask that they'll find out we're broke and then turn in the wallet to mall security? I can dream, can't I?
I read that too. Crazy kids. Ironic. read more
